About Roman Axman
Personal Profile
Hi, I'm Roman Axman, an artist driven by a passion for self-expression and creativity. With roots in Italy, the Netherlands, and Turkey, my multicultural background shapes my open-minded approach to art. This rich diversity of cultures fuels my curiosity and allows me to draw from a wide range of influences and perspectives.
My artistic style is constantly evolving. I thrive on experimenting—whether it’s blending unexpected colors, exploring various paints, varnishes, or playing with different textures. For me, art is not about perfection or precision but about spontaneity, emotion, and embracing the beauty of imperfection. I believe that art, at its core, is a reflection of one's inner world—emotions, thoughts, and beliefs. And this truth applies to everyone.
I also see art beyond the boundaries of painting. I find it in music, dance, writing, building, and mixing—forms that exist all around us, far beyond the walls of galleries and museums. The beauty of art is in its infinite manifestations, and it should never be constrained to one medium or space.
One of the most defining aspects of my work is my approach to mistakes. I never correct them because I see them as essential parts of the artwork. My art celebrates imperfection, spontaneity, and the unexpected.
In my first exhibition, I collaborated with another artist who shares a similar artistic philosophy. Together, we created a series of paintings titled "Journez." The central theme of this collaboration was the value of mistakes in art. Our first piece was an accidental creation that transformed into something complete and intentional—a testament to the power of embracing the unexpected.
